THE MAP AND ITS COLLECTIONS

The Folk Art Museum José Hernández

(MAP) is a unique institution in Buenos Aires. Since its creation, more than 8 decades ago, it is dedicated to keeping alive and strengthening artisanal traditions and knowhow through exhibitions, research and promotion of the country´s multidisciplinary popular arts and craftsmanship.


Its collection of textiles, silverware, leather, wood, ceramics and glass artifacts, among others, is open to the community with attractive exhibitions, including pieces made by the best artisans, contemporary and from the past.


With a view in the future, the museum offers training programs to enable artisans to empower themselves and strengthen their skills, thus preparing them to bring their products to the markets.
